Wanna get a natural look? - MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Actually I am a bargain hunter, but everybody is crazy about MAC and I have heard only positive things about it. So I decided to buy my first MAC product.

As it is really difficult to find fluid make up or powder in dark shades in Germany, I decided to take the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Dark.

It is described by MAC as:
"A luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish. Provides perfect low coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day."
On working days I use this powder alone. I also use it as my setting powder. I apply it with a powder brush to get a light coverage. If I want a full coverage, I apply the powder with a sponge. It gives me a lovely natural and matte finish.

Would I buy it again?
Yes, definitely! I really like the finish. It feels so silky and gives me a light glow on my face. I am very satisfied with this product. My skin is very soft and it doesn't look cakey at all.

Negative aspects:
I don't like the packaging. It doesn't come with a mirror or a sponge.
I got the feeling that I have to touch-up the powder during the day especially on my oily T-Zone, but I wouldn't like to carry it with me. I am afraid it will break.

Price: 26 €/$

Ingredients:
Talc, Mica, Dimethicone, Polysorbate 20, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Yeast Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palminate, Lauroyl Lysine, Isopropyl Palminate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Bht, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Phenoxyethanol, CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 42090, CI 77163, CI 75470, CI 77289, CI 77288, CI 77510, CI 77742, CI 15850, CI 77007, CI 19140, CI 15985

New Fashion Jewelry

By coming home from work, I stopped by H&M. Actually just to have a look around, but then I fell in love with these earrings. They are so pretty. I have a weakness for big earrings. However I only wear gold-colored jewelry.

...and these jewelry were presents by my mother-in-law to-be. She is so cute. She always buys something for me when she goes to Tamil shops.

This necklace-set has such a pretty color. Recently she brought me a saree in the same color from Sri Lanka.

Bangles are a must-have when you wear a saree. These golden-black ones will match up to every saree.

Here in Germany there are only a few occassions for wearing a saree. I always enjoy it.

Do you like wearing saree or are you fed up with it?

Love,

Thiya

First Award: 10 random things I like

Yeah I received my first blog award by Fashion Fairytale. She is a cute German blogger.

And now I have to name 10 things I like...

  1. My family: I am so happy that I got them. They are always there for me and I can trust them. Especially my sisters. I love to meet my mum & dad & my sisters and spend time together. We don't live near each other, so these "meetings" are quite rare.

  2. My boyfriend: Although we are living together, I love to go out with him. I hate being at home all the time. A perfect date would be: going out to a nice restaurant and afterwards to cinema OR cocktails at a cool bar and then dancing.

  3. Friends: On a Saturday evening meeting friends spontaneously and spend a nice evening. That's fun!

  4. Summerrain: In the morning when I wake up and the rain is pattering down on earth. I love the sound. It is nice to know that it is summer and it is not cold outside.

  5. Music: I can't imagine a life without music. Sometimes I hear a certain song and I can remember special moments.

  6. Online-Shopping: Even on sundays all shops are open in the internet. I love to order clothes at H&M, make up or other lovely things at ebay.com. I can hardly wait until the postman comes and brings me all the wonderful stuff I have ordered. I love unpacking them.

  7. Chocolate: Yes, I have to admit I am a Chocolate-Lover.

  8. Books: I love reading books especially written by Barbara Wood. You must read "Virgins of Paradise". It's sooo awesome. I like good family stories with suspense.

  9. Breakfast: I love taking a breakfast on Sunday mornings. Waking up late and taking a yummy breakfast instead of lunch. With various bread rolls, smoked trout or salmon, cheese, jam, fried eggs, ...

  10. Weekend: I love my weekends. There is nothing better than having free time. Just doing what you want and spending time with your loved ones.

I love burning lips

Here comes my declaration of love to Carmex.

It is the best lip balm I have ever tried. It makes my lips sooo smooth and it really moisturizes. It feels light and sheer on my lips. Most of the lip balms I used so far dried up my lips as soon as I stopped using them but with Carmex they remain soft.

It smells so good. It reminds me of Vicks VapoRub with a touch of vanilla. When I apply it on my lips there is a nice cooling effect. My lips are slightly burning. Curiously I love this feeling :-)

I have even tried Carmex under a lipstick and it looks and feels great! It is the No. 1 lip balm in the U.S.A. Even stars and make-up artists use it.

I prefer the original Carmex in the jar more than the one in the tube. Which lip balm do you use?

Heat - Catch the fever

Hello ladies,

for the last days the weather was very cloudy and rainy... It feels like autumn. Usually it has to be sunny and hot here in Germany. But eiter way there is one good thing...this is the perfect weather for wearing the first perfume by Beyoncé Knowles. It is called Heat and the scent features notes of red vanilla, orchid, magnolia, neroli, and blush peach. It comes as a Eau de Parfum.

The first impression I get from this perfume is that I love the bottle. This combination of red and gold and its shape is just sexy! Surprisingly the fragrance is very fruity at first. But later it gets more deepness. I like it. But I think it is more suitable for autumn/winter times. In summer I like to wear flowery scents.

You can get 30 ml for 24 €/32 $.

Anyway it is a must-have for all Beyoncé fans.

If I were a boy...I would marry her!

Do you know what? I love Beyoncé Knowles! I just love everything of her: her beauty, body, style, music,... just everything! Lucky Jay Z to have her.

House of Deréon is the fashion line by Beyoncé and her mother Tina Knowles founded in 2004. It is named by her maternal grandmother Agnèz Deréon. House of Deréon represents the three generations of women. Its tagline is "Couture.Kick.Soul".

In 2006 Beyoncé and her sister Solange launched the junior line Deréon which is cheaper priced. The tag line for Deréon is "Where the sidewalk and catwalk meet". Recently the ad campaign for Deréon's Fall 2010 collection was released. You see a much different Beyoncé here, but I love it! Changes are good for her business. Who wants to see the same Beyoncé for years?!

How do you like the new Beyoncé?

Desi Tag

Many Desi-Youtuber do this TAG, so I thought, why not myself too!

But first what does DESI mean? Here is an explanation:

Desi (தேசி, ; देशी, ਦੇਸੀ, دیسی) or Deshi (; ദേശി, দেশী, देशी) or Desiyudu (దేశీయుడు) refers to
the peoples, cultures, and products of South Asia. The word is originally from Sanskrit (देशी deśī), literally meaning "from the country" or "of the country".

Desi is a word that the South Asians use as a self-designation, without mentioning any specific country of origin and refers to a broader common identity. It also refers to the subculture of the South Asian Diaspora .

So here we go:

Which desi country are you from?

My parents are from Sri Lanka, but I was born in Germany.

Which desi languages do you speak?
I speak Tamil. In the past I went to a Tamil school every sunday in order to learn my mother tongue.  I am really happy to be able to speak Tamil.

What is your favourite desi food?
I love kottu roti, idiyappa biryani, dosa, ... *Yummy*

What do you think describes you best as a Desi?
Although I was born & raised in Germany my parents always tried to make our culture accessible to me. When I was a child I couldn't understand why but today I am really proud of my mum and dad. Our culture is my identification! Even if I live here, I won't forget my origin. My brown skin will show it anyway...

If you could meet one known Desi person, who would you like to meet?
That would be Kamal Haasan. I love his movies. He always comes up with new ideas. His films are not always mainstream. That's great!

So that is it! Now I'd like to tag:

Primark wedges

Hola chicas!

how do you like my new boots? I bought them at Primark. Primark is an Irish clothing retailer. There are stores in Ireland, UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Belgium. When they opened their first store in Germany about one year ago a huge hype broke out. Primark store's are always full, because the prices are really cheap.

Anyways I love my new boots, they are perfect for autumn. The weather is rainy here at the moment. I hope the summer is not over yet...

Lil' nailpolish haul

Hi,

I ordered two nailpolishes via ebay.com.

I love them!!! Red is my favourite nail colour. I got so many red shades. I can't get enough. This time it is "Red my fortune cookie" by OPI (Hongkong Collection). It is a brilliant and pretty red.

Then I ordered the taupe color "Ingrid" by the latest China Glaze Collection (Fall 2010) Vintage Vixen. It's the perfect color for autumn!

Inception - A must-watch!

Hi ya,

yesterday me and my bf went to cinema to watch the movie of the year "Inception". The money we spent was worth it. Inception is an ingenious movie. However you should switch on your brains to be able to follow the story line. It's very clever!

The story is about extracting information from the subconscious mind of victims while they dream. In his last job Leonardo DiCaprio has to perform an inception, the planting of an idea into the mind of his client's competitor.
All characters did a great job.

Actually I am not a fan of this kind of movies, but I love it! I would even watch it again in cinema...

Have you already seen the movie? Tell me, how do you like it?
