Wanna get a natural look? - MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Actually I am a bargain hunter, but everybody is crazy about MAC and I have heard only positive things about it. So I decided to buy my first MAC product.

As it is really difficult to find fluid make up or powder in dark shades in Germany, I decided to take the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Dark.

It is described by MAC as:
"A luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish. Provides perfect low coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day."
On working days I use this powder alone. I also use it as my setting powder. I apply it with a powder brush to get a light coverage. If I want a full coverage, I apply the powder with a sponge. It gives me a lovely natural and matte finish.

Would I buy it again?
Yes, definitely! I really like the finish. It feels so silky and gives me a light glow on my face. I am very satisfied with this product. My skin is very soft and it doesn't look cakey at all.

Negative aspects:
I don't like the packaging. It doesn't come with a mirror or a sponge.
I got the feeling that I have to touch-up the powder during the day especially on my oily T-Zone, but I wouldn't like to carry it with me. I am afraid it will break.

  1. hmmmmmmmm even i hav heard a lot abt this....u have tempted me to check this out next time i visit mac :D

  2. For some reason I have three of these in different shades. I use it mostly the same as you do, as a setting powder or just alone on super hot days (otherwise I use a tinted moisturizer and this). I haven't actually used it with a sponge, I'll try that.

Be careful with MAC, they're good and this won't be your last MAC product! MAC does offer lots of different shades for us and the back to mac program is pretty good.

  3. I have this and am pretty happy. The only issue, as u also wrote, was that it didnt come with sponge or mirror.

  4. hmmm..the sound looks good...but price is so high...isn't it?

  5. @ Anonymous: The MAC-Salesperson recommended me to apply it with a sponge. It works really good.

You are right, I got so many items on my MAC-wishlist :-)) Can anybody tell me, what the back to mac program is?

@ Rakhshanda: Yeah, unfortunately the price for MAC is really high, but what can I do... Here in Germany dark skinned ppl rarely find any foundation in their shade. :-(

  6. I love this powder, but the shade I have is really I use it as a bronzer.

  7. I have been wanting to buy this forever but m always confused whether to buy it or not as it's very pricey..:(

n Btw, Back to Mac is that if you have two empty jars of Mac products, then you take them back to the store and you get a free lippy of your choice!

  8. @ Srish: Thank you! The Back to Mac program is very tempting... OMG...

The powder is very pricey, u r right. But I think it is worth it... Try it :)

  9. Srish its not 2 sweetie its 6!!!!
Getting 6 empty cans means a lot of collecting !! but iv been dying to try this out thiya...i might try this out...i want a setting powder though and i dont know whether i wanna invest this much..

  10. I want this so bad! I've read a lot of raves about this product and now I have to get it. Although it's actually too pricey for me!
